Week-ends du Monde at parc Jean-Drapeau
Opening of the cycle track
The circuit Gilles-Villeneuve and south shore cycle track , will open on April 15, 2010.
The Montreal Olympic Rowing and Canoe-Kayaking Basin provides the local public with the opportunity to practice three major team and performance water board-sports, in the heart of Parc Jean-Drapeau, just 10 minutes from downtown Montreal.
Rowing is one of the oldest disciplines in the modern Olympics movement, and it is an especially illustrious sport in Canada, a country that is a major power in this discipline. Montrealers are invited to come out and give rowing a try and be introduced to the Montreal Rowing Club (MRC), a Parc Jean-Drapeau partner. The MRC offers a wide range of programs, from beginners’ to competitive and including recreational, school, CEGEP and university programs.
Canoe-kayaking, more widely known in Quebec than rowing, is a very demanding discipline, but one that brings together avid enthusiasts of recreation, tranquility and nature. To give canoeing or kayaking a try at the Olympic Basin, please contact the following partners.
Dragon boating, meanwhile, is a discipline that is much in vogue at the Basin. A popular activity for reinvigorating team spirit, this socio-sporting environment is ideal for any company that wants to enhance employee relations and encourage team unity in the workplace. To take part in this activity, please contact either of the Basin’s two partners.
