“Phare du Cosmos”
Sculpture erected on the southwest tip of Île Sainte-Hélène.
This work by Quebec artist Yves Trudeau, created in 1967, expresses the language and cultural values of the new age of space and electronics. It served as a visual landmark for all of the visitors to Expo 67.
When the exhibition closed, the House of Seagram donated the sculpture to St. Dunstan’s University on Prince Edward Island, which in turn gave it to the City of Montreal.
