The South Shore Bike Link will be closed from June 1 to June 14 due to the Grand Prix du Canada.

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve closed from May 21 to June 14

Due to the final preparations for the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is closed to cyclists from May 21 to June 14 inclusively.

River shuttle: start of season postponed

May 14-31, 2019

Due to the river's high water level, the Maritime Shuttles service will not begin its operations on Saturday, May 18, as expected. More details will be announced in the coming days.

Cycling access ramp of the Concorde Bridge: detour to be expected

April 3 to May 16, 2019

The cycling access ramp, which serves as a cycling path between Île-Sainte-Hélène and the Concorde Bridge, will remain closed until the end of construction work on Espace 67. Cyclists can get to Île-Sainte-Hélène, from the Concorde Bridge, by taking the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve and then the Cosmos Bridge.

The Société du parc Jean-Drapeau produces several events, including the Fête des neiges de Montréal. Throughout the years, the outstanding contributions of the many volunteers is a key element in the success and notoriety of our events.

We're looking for energetic, resourceful, generous and cheerful volunteers wishing to contribute in a fun and friendly environment.

The volunteer recruitment period for the 2019 edition of the Fête des neiges de Montréal is now over. We would like thank everyone that contribute to the success of the event.

  • I don't have an email address. Is there another way I can register?

    Yes, you just have to contact the reception desk at 514 872-6120.

  • Am I going to receive a certificate acknowledging my volunteer hours?

    Yes, but the volunteer must honour his or her commitment before receiving a certificate attesting the hours the volunteer has done. It will be issued by email at the end of the event.

  • Can I choose what I will be doing at the event?

    The assigning of the various duties is done that same morning to ensure the proper coordination of all the volunteers, based on crowds attending the event and the needs.

  • Should I bring a lunch?

    The noon-hour lunch is provided, as are a few snacks during the day. If you have any food allergies, we suggest you bring your lunch.

  • I want to change my dates of availability; how do I go about doing that?

    After you have registered, you will be receiving a call from an attendant; you can change your information at that time, when you are speaking with the attendant.

  • I want to remove my name from parc Jean-Drapeau's volunteer bank; how do I go about doing that?

    You just have to contact the reception desk at 514 872-6120.

  • What should I bring for my day as a volunteer?

    It's very important that you dress warmly. Volunteer activities at the Fête des neiges event all take place outdoors. You need to be properly dressed, with winter boots, snow pants, a fleece-lined winter coat, a toque, gloves, extra clothing, a thermos and other items to keep you warm. It's also important that you have your health insurance card with you.

  • Is there a training day?

    Yes, attendance at a training day is mandatory to be a volunteer. Information on this subject will be conveyed to you by the attendant that contacts you.

  • Can we do volunteering as a group?

    No. Since the assigning to the various duties is done that same morning, the volunteer groups are divided up to carry out the various job assignments.

  • When is the deadline to register as a volunteer for the Fête des neiges?

    The deadline to register is January 19, 2019. If the volunteer job postings aren't filled after this date, the registrations will remain open.

  • What are the volunteer dates and schedules?

    The Fête des neiges will be held on Saturdays and Sundays from January 19 to February 10, 2019. Depending on the job positions, volunteers will have to be available according to the schedule of their choice among the Fête des neiges dates. We encourage volunteers to provide maximum availability in an effort to contribute to the event.

  • What are the requirements to be a volunteer at the Fête des neiges?

    You have to be 14 years of age and over. The candidate must be able to communicate in French. The candidate must have basic customer service skills, behave in a friendly and professional manner, be able to follow instructions and comply with policies regarding volunteers. The candidate must be committed to helping the public have an enjoyable time, and the candidate must enjoy working outdoors.

  • Is there a criminal record check?

    Yes, every candidate will be subject to a criminal record check by the SPVM(Montréal police department). Candidates with a criminal record are not eligible for selection as a volunteer and must withdraw their candidacy.
