Lane Swimming
Along with being a lot of fun, swimming is a sport which enables you to do some full physical training and is beneficial for both the mind and body.
Because of swimming's wide popularity, there are now eight swimming lanes set up in the recreational pool at the Aquatic Complex. The general public is invited to come over and train any time of the day, and every day throughout the summer season. And, from Monday through Friday, the swimming lanes are accessible very early in the morning, even before open-swimming time.
Whether it's for fine-tuning your swimming techniques, part of a personal training regimen or simply for the fun of it, the recreational pool at the Aquatic Complex is a source of satisfaction for swimmers and people interested in their health and well-being.
Brief lane swimming guide
Maximum of 12 people per lane.
Select the swimming lane that relates to your calibre (slow, medium or fast).
Always swim on the right-hand side of the lane.
Pass on the left-hand side.
Lightly tap the foot of the swimmer ahead of you to indicate you want to pass. This swimmer must maintain his or her pace, without speeding up, and move to the right. If the passing occurs at the end of the lane, the person passing has priority for the turn.
When stopping, always leave the middle of the lane ends open to allow for turnings.
Show courtesy to the other swimmers and reassess whether the lane you have selected is the proper one.
Prevention and safety
The Parc Jean-Drapeau team provides its clientele with a pleasant and safe swimming experience. Because the collaboration of everyone is essential, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the various rules and regulations in force our facilities.
