Skating is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air and have fun during the winter season. Two rinks have been set up at Parc Jean-Drapeau for the enjoyment of people who like to skate.
Come and spend some time open skating, either by yourself or with your family, and admire the setting sun as it slips behind the city's skyscrapers.
This rectangular, refrigerated rink provides skaters with a smooth surface, making it a fun experience all winter long. An accompanying musical ambiance, courtesy of Radio-Canada and its new app, OHdio, which provides continuous listening, further enlivens the experience.
Dimensions: 15 by 30 metres (50 by 100 feet)
An oval-shaped rink will be available for skaters as of Saturday, February 20, and is one more activity to enjoy on the site. Although the ice oval won't be refrigerated, it will be maintained throughout the winter, despite the occasional whims of Mother Nature.
Dimensions: 213 by 3 metres (700 feet by 10 feet)
Radio-Canada has set up an elaborate installation which allows you to warm up your hands when it's cold outside: just press on the button, insert your mittens, and voilà!
If you have symptoms related to Covid-19, please stay home and get in touch with the available medical resources.
The visitors must follow health recommendations of the Public Health.
Also, wearing a mask or a face covering is mandatory inside the facilities (buildings and restrooms) and when social distancing is not possible.
In order to comply with the health recommendations of the Public Health, a maximum of 25 skaters will be allowed on the ice of each rink at the same time. A rotation will be done hourly if necessary.
The skating rink is closed for the rest of the season. See you next year!
