Expo 67

A bit of history

Expo 67, officially known as the 1967 World Exposition, left a lasting mark on collective memory and remains one of the most significant events in the history of Montréal and Canada. Held under the theme "Man and His World", it welcomed over 50 million visitors in just six months—an extraordinary achievement for its time.

With their symbolic passports in hand, visitors explored nearly one hundred thematic pavilions representing 62 nations, discovered futuristic modes of transportation, admired public artworks created especially for the occasion, and experienced the very first rides at La Ronde, which opened during the event.

Expo 67 was at once a showcase of innovation, a cultural crossroads, and a moment of shared pride, whose legacy can still be felt today on the Parc site.
